From paint tubing to chilled water to plumbing to large ductwork, Mechanical has performed work in every area of the plant. Mechanical plays a major role in each of the turnaround projects when the plant switches to a new car model. Of particular importance to Chrysler is Mechanical’s expertise in the paint shop where the company has performed all of the major installations and maintenance. < > University Of Chicago – Center For Biomedical Discovery Customer: Turner Construction Company Contract Amount: $13,277,000 Location: Chicago, Illinois Project Description: The facility at the University of Chicago is a 10-story building with 330,000 square-feet of space for research laboratories and classrooms. Mechanical performed the HVAC piping and lab gas systems on the project. The project relied heavily on BIM drawings for fabrication and installation. < > Kroc Center Customer: W.E. O"Neil Contract Amount: $2,350,000 Location: Chicago, Illinois Project Description: Mechanical installed over 20,000 feet of underground pipe as well as all of the mechanical pool equipment for the indoor aquatic facility at the Kroc Center, part of the Salvation Army Community Center. The competition pool, leisure pool, and spa combine for a total of 320,000 gallons of pool volume. < > Lake Central High School Customer: Lake Central School Corporation Contract Amount: $23,460,000 Location: St. Johns, Indiana Project Description: Mechanical contracted to perform the HVAC pipe, sheet metal, gas piping, and refrigeration piping scopes of work on the 850,000 square-foot Lake Central High School. Contract work also includes an additional 135,000 square-foot addition to an elementary school in the district. Both new construction and renovation work are included in the dquare footage. In addition to HVAC work, Mechanical will complete concrete, piping, and equipment scopes for a new 50 meter Olympic size pool at the high school. < > Stickney Sludge Thickening Project Customer: McHugh Construction Contract Amount: $19,576,000 Location: Cicero, Illinois Project Description: Mechanical performed all of the process piping and odor control piping for the sludge thickening process. The Stickney Water Reclamation Plant processes up to 1.2 billion gallons per day making it the largest wastewater treatment facility in the world. Pipe materials consisted of ductile iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, and fiberglass wrapped pipe. < > US Federal Courthouse Customer: Caddell Construction Contract Amount: $7,200,000 Location: Rockford, Illinois Project Description: This LEED Gold Certified building is a new federal courthouse. Mechanical performed the plumbing and HVAC piping work on the project. All piping work was built from a BIM model and many of the systems were sent to the site prefabricated. < > Riverview Condos Customer: Power Construction Company Contract Amount: $3,754,000 Location: Chicago, Illinois Project Description: Mechanical was the piping contractor for the 33-story Riverview Condominium Phase 2 project. Built along the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, the building was part of the condo building boom of the mid 2000’s. Mechanical’s work included chiller and cooling tower installation as well as all HVAC piping. < > Allstate Data Center Customer: Mortenson Construction Contract Amount: $5,500,000 Location: Rochelle, Illinois Project Description: Mechanical was responsible for the HVAC, process pipe, ventilation, and plumbing scopes for this 75,000 square-foot data center. Three screw type 450 ton chillers were installed under the contract as well as 35 CRAC units. < > East Interceptor Customer: Rock River Water Reclamation District Contract Amount: $2,944,000 Location: Rockford, IL Project Description: Civil extended an existing 42″ trunk sewer along the Rock River and Route 251 to connect with a curent 21″ sewer line running along Spring Creek Rd. Extensive dewatering and high volume bypass pumping as well as a series of 66″ borings under the railroad and Route 251 made this project a challenge. < > Lock And Dam 12 Customer: US Army Corps of Engineers Contract Amount: $7,016,000 Location: Bellevue, IA Project Description: Civil joined forces with JF Brennen Co. on this multi-year project which included upper guide wall work, machinery replacements, structural repair, and the main winter shutdown to replace the lock wall facing with precast panels. < > Fuller Creek Pump Station Customer: Rock River Water Reclamation District Contract Amount: $3,661,000 Project Description: Civil was the prime contractor on one of several projects which connected the sanitary sewer system of Winnebago, IL to the City of Rockford. The project consisted of a 47,000 gallon reinforced concrete wet well, prefabricated pump station, and a backup generator. To accomplish this work an 81’ wide by 40’ deep circular cofferdam was installed. < > Parking Lots Project Description: Civil’s Commercial Paving team provides a cost-effective solution for new and existing parking lots. Civil’s experienced crews can fix drainage problems, add concrete flatwork, landscape, and stripe parking stalls to make an attractive pakring area for employees and visitors. < > Lasalle Abe Lincoln Bridge Customer: Illinois Department of Transportation Contract Amount: $33,939,000 Location: LaSalle, IL Project Description: This challenging 2 year project involved the staged re-decking of the 1.5 mile long bridge carrying I-39 over the Illinois River, which is currently the longest bridge in Illinois. Over 20,000 CY of concrete and 4.8 million pounds of rebar were installed while performing over 50 deck pours. This project earned “Bridge of the Year” honors in the rehab category from IDOT and was also featured in Roads and Bridges magazine as one of its top 10 projects in 2007. < > US Route 20 Bypass Customer: Illinois Department of Transportation Contract Amount: $7,265,000 Location: Freeport, IL Project Description: This new construction four-lane divided highway included over 55,000 ton of full-depth asphalt and over 65,000 TN of aggregate subgrade.
